Summer Cleaning – Desktop Style

Messiness is never the solution to anything. But the thing is, ever since Ramadan started I have been extremely lazy and, well, messy. My room needed a lot of tidying up and most importantly, my laptop was a catastrophe. All the files were messed up. There were so many icons on my desktop that I can barely see my background photo. I ended up grouping the files into folders and not going through everything (easy way out of doing less work). Result: it looked presentable, but there’s a lot that needs deleting. Same situation is happening with my room. After I came back from my trip, I needed space to put everything I bought. So instead of throwing away old junk, I arranged the stuff in my room in a way that would fit everything. That of course needs time and frankly with my laziness hitting its peak, I’m not even halfway done. I wish everything was as easy as tidying up my laptop’s desktop. Humph.

I’m Back

I hate being lazy, but that’s what happens when I’m sick. I’ve been back since Tuesday, but I never got the chance to even turn on my laptop. The funny thing is I didn’t get sick in London (where it’s really cold). Instead, I became sick while in Dubai where the humidity and heat are unbearable. I only started getting better today. Before I forget I would like to say Mbarak alaikum al shahar. I hope everyone is well and enjoying their time with their families and loved ones.

Power Sentences – Tag

When I was a kid I used to write power sentences every month. Power sentences are used to describe important events that happened that month. I wrote it as if it was a list. Sometimes, I would write more details for stuff that I would want to remember in the future. I used to do this all the time, but I guess there came a time when I stopped. Now, I’m going to start writing my power sentences online!

July/August 2011:

> Traveled to Portugal, Spain and London.

> Got new prescription glasses that I really love!

> Enjoyed the amazing weather/scenery in Lisbon, Portugal.

> Barcelona wasn’t much fun, but ending the trip with London was perfect.

> Came back to Kuwait.

> Ramadan 1432 started/ Was addicted to Saher il Lail 2

> My mom’s birthday

> Redecorated my room (changed mostly the furniture which took forever)

> My sister’s birthday (made her a surprise)

> 5atamt il Quran! il 7imdillah

> Eid came without even having something to wear!

> Chalet for Eid/ TANNED!

What are your power sentences for August or July? Share your thoughts in a post! I’d be happy to see other bloggers use this technique! The goal is to write 12 sentences. You decide which month you want to write about!

I will tag the following bloggers to get this thing started!

3ateeja, Penelope, Babble, Danderma, Ashley, Gold Medal Ribbon,Jacqui, Swera, Desert Blvd, Smoking Egg, Iyaa

UPDATE: Gold Medal Ribbon and Iyaa posted about this!

دعاية الوطنية للاتصالات – قريعان 2011

I really liked this commercial. But what I didn’t like is the fact that they used one of the girls that appear on the NBK commercial. I felt they were copying them by doing that!

Better Than Usual

This Ramadan the commercials weren’t as good as I expected, but some turned out really good. The ones I really liked were Gulf Bank and Quality Net. They were creative and they weren’t similar to ones they’ve done in the past. I congratulate them for being the best up to now. The worst, surprisingly, was the NBK one. After the success of the last two commercials, they have failed. They used the same kids and dance moves as the last ones.

Eid Nowadays

Is Eid as exciting as it used to be? Has today been a typical routine? Why is it that it never changes? How come we get money instead of gifts? Why aren’t houses and shopping malls decorated? Isn’t this a time to celebrate?

I wish the routine would change! For me it’s always been the same. Visiting houses the first and second day, going out for dinner and then finally chalet. Its fun, but then its over. We only celebrate this Eid never Eid al a’97a.

Anyways, I can’t wait to watch the last episode of Saher el Lail! (at 9 on Al Watan TV)! It’s so annoying that I wasted my time watching zwarat 5amees when Saher is much better. There’s less drama, but the story has a meaning unlike zwara where it shows that all Kuwaiti men will cheat on their wives.

I wish Saher gets to be aired on TV again because I’m definitely going to watch it!

So, how has everyone’s day been going? Anything interesting?

Oh, and don’t forget to watch Part 2 of the Asnan Clinic Ad.
