Owner of Early Bird Raises Money For Project

She calls herself the Borderless Chef, Bianca Simonion, is setting out for an adventure. Her first restaurant in Kuwait, The Early Bird, opened up a 5 years ago and now she decided to take on a new project. Initially she opened in Kuwait because she wanted to go somewhere exotic. She is not the only American that has done that. She wants to start a TV show called the Borderless Chef that will travel all around the world to find “American business owners who have started restaurants, hotels, spas, and retreats in exotic countries.” The aim is to teach people about entrepreneurship/cooking and what their experience was like. For more information about the project, visit the account on kickstarter where you can also learn how you can be a part of this.

PS. The money will be raised to film the pilot for the show — in Kuwait!

New Show Alert – Devious Maids

Devious Maids is the new hot television series that everyone is talking about. It’s about four Latina maids that work for rich people in Beverly Hills. One of the executive producers is Eva Longoria and it also has the same writer as Desperate Housewives. They aired their 5th episode tonight. So, every Monday I wait for the episode to come out. What I really loved about it is that I was hooked on it from the first 10 minutes!

I really recommend watching it. It’s the first year that I’m not watching anything on television this Ramadan, so having Devious Maids to look forward to is perfect.

What to Watch This Ramadan!

Every year, some of us are faced with the issue of what to watch, which channel to watch it on and at what time! This year, its a bit different (thanks to social media). It’s really easy to know all of the information you need to watch your show.

Here are my recommendations:

1. Jacqui’s Ramadan TV List

Jacqui from Couch Avenue has been doing a list similar to this for the past couple of years. It has the television shows names, channel and timings. I think its the fastest way because you can save the picture on your phone and then it will be available whenever you need it without using internet. A new updated list will be posted, so check it out.

2. Jadwel Abu Tabaila (جدول أبو طبيله)

This an application available for iPhone and Android users. It’s really helpful for checking out your favorite shows, and prayer times. It’s a bit slow at times, but it’s still new and I bet adjustments are on their way.

3. RamadanSeries (Instagram account)

There is an Instagram account for practically everything. RamadanSeries is an Insta account that posts pictures to show you what’s on at the moment. What’s great about it is that it has pictures of the shows, so its easy to recognize the actors/actresses in it. Another thing is that people are constantly commenting on it, so you have some feedback before watching the show.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a blessed and prosperous Ramadan.

My Addiction to Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is a TV show that has been out for quite some time, but only now did I take notice of it. A friend kept on telling me to watch it, but I didn’t think I would like it. At first I saw a few episodes, but I really didn’t have time to watch the rest. Now that time is in my favor, I started watching it again. In a matter of few days I reached episode 16 of the first season. The show reached season 2, episode 12, so I still have a lot of catching up to do.

Here’s a synopsis of the show!

Emma Swan gets the surprise of her life when Henry, the son she gave up 10 years ago, arrives on her doorstep. Returning the boy to his adoptive mother becomes complicated when Henry reveals a stunning theory to Emma. Everyone in Storybrooke, Maine is a fairytale character under a curse, and Emma – as the long lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming – is the one who can save them all. The story unfolds; interweaving scenes of the drama in the sleepy New England town and the inhabitants’ past lives in the world of fairy tales. The timeless battle of good vs evil is ready to begin again.

Suburgatory – Review

A small part of my day during Ramadan is spent watching tv shows. Other than the usual Arabic shows, I started watching Suburgatory. It’s about a teenage girl that was forced to move to the suburbs. She used to live in the city and she desperately wants to go back. The show is really well written and quite funny! It explores “the differences between people raised in different ways but also shows, no matter where you grow up, there are certain universal truths that connect us.” Link I really recommend this show for a good laugh. The first season has just finished and the next one will be airing on a yet unannounced date.

2 Broke Girls

The latest CBS comedy series that has come out is 2 Broke Girls starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. Both actresses are young, beautiful with a good mixture of casting between young, and old throughout the cast. It’s funny, and enjoyable to watch plus it’s only 20 minutes long, so it never gets boring. The characters are hilarious, and easy to relate to! This show with its 9th episode airing this week has plenty of potential! I watched the first five episodes back to back. It’s that good.

Scope – Why?

Scope was interviewing an actress from Al Malika that should have looked twice at the mirror before going on air.

Better Than Usual

This Ramadan the commercials weren’t as good as I expected, but some turned out really good. The ones I really liked were Gulf Bank and Quality Net. They were creative and they weren’t similar to ones they’ve done in the past. I congratulate them for being the best up to now. The worst, surprisingly, was the NBK one. After the success of the last two commercials, they have failed. They used the same kids and dance moves as the last ones.

The last episode of Oprah’s 25th season is going to air on the 28th on MBC 4. I will really miss her show!

Recent American TV Shows

Shows I started watching, but never finished:

The Middle

Gossip Girl

Grey’s Anatomy

Desperate Housewives

They’re all really nice, but I lost interest in all of them. I don’t really have that much time to watch them either. I’ve been watching Pretty Little Liars recently and it’s amazing! If you don’t know about the show, I’ve posted about it earlier. I also love 90210! They aired a couple of episodes a few weeks ago. Do you guys have any suggestions for new shows?
