For months now this advertisement has been up all over Kuwait. Only now do I realize what it means. The ads are used to advertise the new billboards! Concord is an advertisement company that is trying to improve outdoor billboards in Kuwait. It took me such a long time to realize that even though I pass by that ad like 20 times a day. I never even noticed that those billboards were new. I figured it out when I saw a before and after sign of the mupis (adverts in the middle bank between two roads). The ads are used to attract companies to advertise in the new billboards/mupis. The thing that I need an explanation for is why are the ads still up there? Shouldn’t companies already have advertisements on them by now?
I finally found Clusters! I have been looking for this chocolate forever. I searched for it everywhere! My friend told me a couple of months ago that she found it at Sultan Center Sharq, but when I went there it was nowhere to be found. I was devastated! I haven’t had it since August. Lucky for me I found it in Sultan Center Shi3ib or else I don’t think I would survive. At least now I don’t have to wait till my next trip to London just to get it. I love Kuwait and for once I can say that it IS sold in Kuwait. It’s better than the usual fact that so many things can’t be found here.

My family and I have been thinking of going to Milan this summer. We’re still not sure if we’re going because we want to keep our options open. We have been asking around a lot about which hotel is the best, but we can’t seem to decide on one. An ideal hotel would be one that is in the center with good service and new, clean rooms.
Has anyone been there? Where did you stay?
Mike Matas is a user interface designer and cofounder of Push Pop Press, a digital publishing company that worked with Al Gore to create the first full-length interactive book Our Choice. Recently Push Pop Press was acquired by Facebook where he is now working, giving people better tools to explore and share ideas.
Prior to starting Push Pop Press he worked at Apple where he designed user interfaces and artwork for the iPhone, the iPad, and Mac OS X. Before that he cofounded Delicious Monster, a software company that created a book cataloging app called Delicious Library.
Mike’s photos are taken using a Canon 5D Mark II Digital SLR and a range of different lenses. You can checkout what lens he used to take each photo of his site by clicking the “Lens” link at the bottom of each photo. The photos are post-processed using Adobe Lightroom. He also makes videos that are made from those pictures, but somehow it looks like an actual video. His most recent work is one about a trip to Japan that he made with his girlfriend. I have never seen anything like it.
The meaning of the word “launch” reminded me of a cat that came out of no where and leaped on me. It turned out it wanted the food I was holding. I gave it what it wanted and then I started playing with it. That cat was the cutest thing ever.
This was taken in Cyprus.

I never realized that there’s a huge difference in the usage of the words LESS and FEWER until I read a post that stated otherwise. The usage of the two words is nearly always mixed up because their meanings are very similar.
Fewer is appropriate when writing or speaking about plural nouns; so you have fewer marbles and teeth and rugs. Less is appropriate when writing about units of measurement, singular nouns, or count nouns so great that it makes individual increases meaningless. So you’ll write about less water, less than X kilograms of something, and less money. This last case is a little tricky, as you could easily talk about having fewer bills or coins. The idea is that when you’re comparing vague or uncounted, collective things, it’s usually appropriate to use “less,” while when comparing countable finite items, “fewer” is better. I have used those words incorrectly so many times that it became interesting to see how many times I used them correctly.
“There is Nothing Quite Like a Real Book”
I prefer books over e-readers any day. Devices malfunction. Batteries need recharging at inconvenient times. Technology is fantastic, but there is no way I can stop buying books. Bringing home a new book is joy to me. I first look it over, front to back, then remove the dustjacket. Then I open it up and smell the pages, running my hands over it the first time. After that, I find the right bookmark and the perfect place to sit while making sure that my mobile is silent.

Container 75 is the ‘it’ restaurant in Kuwait right now. It’s NOT a unique concept and NOT in a very ‘cool’ location. The only thing they DO have is GOOD food. The restaurant is located in Jabriya right next to Salad Boutique and not far away from Zero Degrees. It cannot be missed because it’s the only container shaped like building in that street. The interior is very cozy and the staff was very polite. We ordered french fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken starter thing, 3 mini cheeseburgers (toledo, old port, normandy port). For desert we had knock out pudding. The fries tasted liked Mcdonalds fries – I mean that as a compliment! The mozzarella sticks were extremely hot when they arrived, but it tasted amazing nonetheless. The chicken thing (really trying hard to recall it’s name) is basically fried chicken strips covered with a sweet sauce. They were really cold, which was a disappointment because they tasted great. The cheeseburgers were all really good, especially the toledo. I usually don’t like mushrooms in my burger, but the way it was assembled made a difference. The sauce and the mushroom weren’t mixed together which makes a huge alteration to its taste. It’s probably the only reason why it was so savor. I really recommend trying the pudding, but don’t imagine it as bread pudding because it is not. That was my problem because I expected to be that way and it turned out to be mostly chocolate and digestive. Definitely going to go there again and next time I want to try their jalapeño poppers and their salads.
I’m a typical Kuwaiti tea lover, so coffee is really not my thing. I usually have my tea with milk, but it depends on my mood. Karak tea, Indian version of tea with milk, is just awful. The tea is so strong and I like my tea very light while the milk has the stronger taste. If not, I would drink the tea without anything. On the other hand, the only coffees I like is French, Arabic, and Turkish coffee. The worst in my opinion is American coffee. It’s so bland especially when it’s black. This picture really shows how there’s endless types of coffees! What’s your favorite type of coffee OR are you a tea lover?
